Tena peacefully passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at age 85. Predeceased by her husband Alphonses (Toddy). Loving mother of Brenda (George), Kevin and Terry (Kim). Dear grandmother of Cheryl, Steven, Scott, Todd Jr., Daniel, Kevin Jr., William and Matthew. Great-grandmother of Alexis, Alecia, Katie, Littlewing, Jesse, Scarlett, Kyla, Thomas, Isis, Christian and Evan. Survived by her sisters Loretta, Emmaline, Gertrude, Esther, Rachel, Sheila, Marilyn, and brother Danny. Predeceased by her parents, John and Bridget, brothers Junior, Carl, Peter, son Toddy and grandson Jason. Lovingly remembered by daughter-in-law Lina and many nieces, nephews, their spouses and children of the McMaster and Bonar families. After coming to Hamilton from her Cape Breton home she married and was widowed at an early age. Tena worked hard her whole life from McMaster Teacher's College and the Brant Inn to the old Donald's in the West End and the Golden Steer, she was a talented cook and baker and later used her skills as a caregiver and companion to the elderly. She was an avid card and bingo player and loved the old movies and to listen and sing along to the old songs. We love her and will miss her in our lives. Thank you to the dedicated staff of St. Joseph's Juravinski Chest Unit and Dr. Anne Boyle for their care and compassion. A funeral service will be held at the L.G. WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 151 Ottawa Street North (905) 544-1147, on Thursday at 1 p.m. with visitation from 11 a.m. until service time. Private burial to follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Cancer Society.

Online condolences at
www.lgwallace.ca
