<div itemprop="description">&#10014; Ivan (Ivica) Atlija October 10, 1928 &ndash; January 3, 2016<br />It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ivan (Ivica) Atlija peacefully with his family at his side at St. Peter&rsquo;s Residence at Chedoke, in Hamilton, Ontario on January 3, 2016 at the age of 87. Ivan leaves behind his loving and devoted family; wife Rosa (nee Visekruna), son Dragoljub (Dan) and daughter-in-law Tatjana, grandchildren Natalia, Ivana and Filip, daughter Dragica (Doris) and son-in-law George Trisic, grandchildren Paul, Stephanie and Mark, son Milan (Mike) and daughter-in-law Cathy, grandchildren Alex and Jessica, and sister Dragica (in Dalmacija). He will be sadly missed by family and friends in Canada, USA, Dalmacija, and Serbia.<br />Ivan was born in Selo Oton, Dalmacija. He was a Veteran of the Second World War, joining the Serbian Chetnik Movement at the young age of 13. After the war he found his way to England where he worked and completed his trades education. He immigrated to Canada in 1956 to begin a new life and career. Ivan married his wife Rosa Visekruna on August 20th, 1958. Together they lovingly raised three children and shared 57 happy years of marriage.<br />Ivan was a caring family man, who actively supported his church and community. He was a founding member of St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Cathedral on Nash Road in Hamilton, Ontario and the Chetnik War Veterans Association in Winona, Ontario. Ivan was a dedicated employee of Dofasco for 35 years. <br />Family and friends will be received at L.G. WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 151 Ottawa Street North, Hamilton, Ontario on Tuesday January 5, 2015 from 6-9 pm. Pomen (memorial service) at 7:30pm. Funeral Service will be held at St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Cathedral, 149 Nash Rd. S., Hamilton on Wednesday, January 6, 2015 at 12 p.m. with the Very Reverend Father Djuro Samac officiating.
